Sosa and Starving Students -- Both Move, One Tested Positive For Steroids

In the summer of 1998, Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire engaged in a home run battle for the ages and each jockeyed Sammy_Sosato overtake Roger Maris' the-record 61 home runs in one season. The two would be featured almost nightly as one would top the other seemingly each day en route to eclipsing the legendary mark. McGwire would end up with 70 home runs to Sosa's 65, but both accomplishments would later be tarnished not by Barry Bonds who would later hit 73 home runs in a single season, but also by steroid allegations. McGwire would take execute his fifth amendment right to not incriminate himself and now the New York Times is reporting that Sammy Sosa tested positive for steroid use in 2003. Sosa's reported positive test result comes shortly after another superstar, Alex Rodriguez, admitted to prior steroid use, further tainting the sport that is now loosely referred to as "America's Favorite Pastime".
